ASH Wales Smoke Free Living
The smokefree legislation introduced in 2007 has massively reduced people's exposure to secondhand smoke in most enclosed workplaces and public places. The Smoke Free Living initiative looks to further protect the public from the harm of second-hand smoke by working towards reducing smoking in homes and cars.

Smoking & Health
Women who use combined oral contraceptives are at increased risk of heart disease. Because the risk of heart disease in young women is low, the benefits of using the pill generally outweigh the risks for young women who do not smoke. Among pill-users who smoke, however, the risk of having a heart attack is some 20 times higher.
Addiction Fact:
"How long does it take to get hooked? A September 2000 study showed that one quarter of 11 to 13 year olds who smoke as few as two or three cigarettes a day become addicted in just two weeks. And many of the rest got addicted shortly after that.
Once hooked, the average smoker is unable to stop for seventeen years! And every year, they will spend £1200 or more on tobacco products, to maintain their addiction."
